Jessica Parker BA (Hons)

Jessica has an BA honors degree in Art and Environmental Studies from Roehampton Institute and was Harrods Millinery buyer for 10 years before moving out to Oxfordshire to bring up her family and establish Kingfisher Studios. She now works full time from her studio; teaching, running workshops and working on her own mixed media art work. Jessica describes her work as "abstract realism" with a strong emphasis on the environment and man's relationship with it. Her work often features derelict and abandoned buildings or structures and she uses discarded materials and artwork to emphasise her reuse/recycle/re-purpose mindset.

Tucked "around the back" of the bustling Crawley Mill Industrial Estate, Kingfisher Studios has an enviable spot along side the River Windrush and on the old mill pool. Crawley Mill was one of Witney's original blanket factories and is now home to a range of business occupiers. The space we have is light and airy and cool in the summer and warm in the winter with the benefit or our wood burner. We use the river bank when working outside.

We are part of the Crawley Collective initiative formed with some of our neighbours - May I Design (Happy Textiles), Daisy Roots (Pottery) and CB Woodwind (musical instrument repair sales and tuition),  Random (up cycling and re-purposing ) and Hicks Made (Ceramics)Cotswold Cartridges (cartridge art)
